Our Story

The teenage years and early twenties are a crucial time for young people when the moral, ethical, and practical course of their lives is being set into motion. Because emotional and psychological stresses tend to escalate during these pivotal years, many teenagers escape into drugs, crime, suicide, and other counterproductive activities. Indeed, the Youth Brigade members, most of whom were raised in a rough slum district of Bangalore, have experienced these problems in varying degrees.

Youth Brigade’s founder, Timothy, was no exception. But when his disoriented life was turned around about seven years ago, Timothy started reaching out to help his peers in whatever way he could. And from there the Youth Brigade movement began to take shape and grow.

Regular weekly projects of Youth Brigade:

Weekly Sunday Fellowship

Joshua uses his interaction with the youngsters, not only to teach them soccer, but also as an opportunity to encourage and guide them in a positive way. The soccer club is quite popular and has almost 60 members.

The seminar teachers have a big responsibility; the guidance in these weekly seminars is much needed; students learn to build the kind of habits early in life that will pay off for them both now and in the future.
