Taiwan Helping Africa

We first met Pastor Sam and Staff Members of “Better Life Community Center” on a trip to Nairobi, Kenya in 2005. At that time, he personally asked us if we could help him to get a vehicle for his work. In 2013, when we established this project, we finally raised enough to buy a used car to run around town for supplies for his school.  Since then, generous friends throughout Taiwan have sponsored a school bus, updated a provisions vehicle, sponsored whole school excursions, as well as the painting of the school, school desks and books, and more.

Here are Joe and Danny along with Joe’s daughters, Vanessa and Serena, posing with BLCC Students in front of the bus we were able to buy through our “Taiwan Helping Africa” project in FISAT. The pastor actually uses this bus to rent to other entities, and then this has become a tool to raise income to help pay for the school’s expenses.

Taiwan Helping Africa

“BLCC” is a private school that Pastor Sam founded in the slum areas of Nairobi which accommodates children who have no opportunity attend government schools in the city. This is because these kids are generally from the outlying districts of Kenya.

BLCC includes pre-school thru 9th Grades. As BLCC is a Christian school which promotes and teaches Christian values, we value their ministry as one which gives their students the chance to lead meaningful and productive lives.  They provide the required curriculum for students wanting to attend government high schools.  Each year many kids from their graduating class of 9th grade are able to pass the entrance exams for entering into public high schools in Nairobi. Many have even gone on to attending universities as well. So through your generous help, “Better Life Community Center” is truly reaching their goal of giving slum area kids a chance to have a “Better Life”.
