Nepal Special Report

In Nepal, children from impoverished families, especially girls, are sold like commodities to supplement the family income; or they are tricked into marriage and taken away; in both cases, they end up in the sex industry, never to return home. Even those fortunate enough to be rescued often find their families assimilated by their perceived "dirtiness" and unable to accept them back. The only thing that can change this is education! Enabling boys and girls from impoverished families to attend school.

This is the mission of the Nepal project! Here, children don't just study; they study diligently and achieve excellent results. At St. Joseph's Secondary School, children, regardless of caste or social status, actively and mutually respect and help each other. Everyone has a very good relationship; for them, the school is more like a big family.

Principal Amit and his wife Indrani's philosophy is to transform and change society from the bottom up! This mission continues, with God sending angelic hands to accompany them along the way!

Nepal Project ~ More!

The children are staying up all night at school, studying late into the night to prepare for the upcoming national exams. They study until 1 a.m., then get up at 6 a.m. the next morning for class. They will continue doing this for several months until the exams arrive.
